The Hulhumalé Yacht Marina in the Maldives is moving towards completion. The director of Asia Pacific Superyachts Maldives, Mohamed Hameed, said in a statement that the marina should be completed in the next eight months.
When operational, the 300-slip marina should be one of the largest in the region. The project is being overseen by the Maldives Housing Development Cooperative (HDC).
The HDC said in the statement that 240 hectares of land were reclaimed by March 1015. The remaining work will take place over the next eight months.
The marina will eventually have retail shops, yacht club, and repair facilities. A cruise ship terminal will be located across from the marina.
