Marina Molo Luise in Naples has reported that the number of port calls from superyachts in the 2016 season is up 50% in comparison to the same period a year ago. The 120-berth marina, operated by Luise Group, says it has registered a 30% increase in the number of 30m-plus yachts choosing its facility in this period.

Located in downtown Naples, the marina is part of an itinerary that yachts undertake in the area, which almost always include the islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida.

The superyacht marina recently accommodated over 40 yachts in the 30m-plus range attending the Dolce & Gabbana anniversary event that took place earlier this month.

Motoryachts Romea (80m), Savannah (88m), Mayan Queen (92m), Queen Miri (96m), Laurel N (95m), Symphony (101m), Quantum Blue (104m), Rising Sun (138m), Octopus (126m), Topaz (147m), Ocean Victory (140m) and Dilbar (156m) are some of the vessels that docked at the marina for the Dolce & Gabbana event.

“This is not the first time we have welcomed so many large yachts at one time to the marina,” explains Francesco Luise, manager of the Luise Group. “We have had this high concentration of yachts at Marina Molo Luise during America’s Cup, NauticSud International Boat Show and every year in the summer from June to August,” he adds.

Marina Molo Luise has over the years undertaken many projects to improve the facilities as well as implementing new and original services to yachts.

“In addition to a team that provides 24-hour concierge and technical services while in port, the marina also takes pride in assisting yachts before and after their arrival with assistance in liaising with Harbour officials in the entire area and assisting with last minute bookings, often a challenge to find, along the entire Amalfi Coast and on the islands,” comments Luisa Del Sorbo, manager of yachting and tourism specialist firm By Tourist.

Amongst the original services that Marina Molo Luise provides is a worldwide courier system that allows yachts to use the marina as its mailing address for their entire stay in the Western Mediterranean. “From assistance with emergency repairs and spare parts, firearms authorization, 24/7 medical assistance and provisioning the marina also has strived to consistently improve the support we provide for special parties and events,” Luise notes.

In addition, the number of high profile guests has been in continued increase over the years, and as a result the company has worked to heighten the level of security services for owners and charter guests for the duration of their stay, both when in the marina and in the city of Naples.

The marina has also worked on improving its facilities. Luise explains: “Most recently we have added additional parking and a dedicated crew area outfitted with barbeques and a picnic area and also often bring in Michelin starred chefs to demonstrate how to utilize local ingredients and also for dedicated wine tasting with local wines and sprits.”

With a focus on VIP guests, Marina Molo Luise provides tourism services including closed door boutique shopping, after hours access to historic sites and customized transfers and tours via water, air and land. “We have also decided to offer the possibility for yachts to berth even into the night with few restrictions on timing of when arrivals need to happen.  This is a service that is not offered in any other touristic port in Italy,” Luise claims.
