Sunseeker International has announced strong retail sales at the London Boat Show with in excess of £14m of boat orders (ex.tax) in the first three days. A wide range of boats have been bought thus far including a San Remo, a 68 Sport Yacht, a 75 Yacht and two 86 Yachts.
Sunseeker claims the show has been “extremely busy with very high levels of visitors to the stand and pre-booked meetings with clients and prospects at a record high – exceeding even 2008 figures.”
To reinforce the current strong sales, Sunseeker’s UK distributor alone is projecting turnover to be £150m in 2016 – a 36% increase on 2015 figures. The wider Sunseeker London Group has also seen record sales in Spain during 2015 – indicating a recovering market and helping to refill marinas there. New retail and service offices have also recently been opened in Cyprus, Morocco and Portugal to take the overall number of Sunseeker London Group offices across Europe and the Mediterranean to 25.
Commenting on the strong retail sales figures, Sunseeker’s CEO Phil Popham said: “The London Boat Show is an excellent barometer of the European marketplace and we are pleased to have experienced such strong sales in the first three days of the show alone. We are looking forward to achieving even greater success here, and over the next few months Sunseeker will be exhibiting at many other boat shows throughout the world including Dusseldorf and Miami where we are also expecting strong retail sales.”
Sunseeker recently announced that it was looking to recruit 225 more skilled staff which gives a clear signal of the positive times ahead. The company plans to invest in long term growth and sustainable success, backed by its majority shareholder Wanda Group whose stable ownership and strong financial backing enables Sunseeker to plan and invest for the future. Sunseeker says the company’s forward order book for 2016 and beyond is looking very strong, currently up 55% over the same period last year.
Sunseeker has successfully launched the new 131 Yacht at the London Boat Show which is the largest of four new Sunseeker models set to debut in 2016. The first five of these stunning 131 Yachts have already been sold to clients from all over the world, underlining the strong demand and global appeal the company is seeing for this exciting new evolution in design. This is supported by several appointments from customers flying in from abroad during the course of this week, specifically to view the first of these exquisite new models.
