Older superyachts can have a mix of digital and analogue instrument systems, which results in a varied collection of gauges that not only look untidy but can only display a single engine parameter. The new Engine Monitoring Unit (EMU-1) from Actisense is designed to overcome this problem by converting the analogue data to the common NMEA 2000 protocol. This allows it to be shared on a modern data bus and displayed on multi-function displays. The unit can handle six gauge/parameter inputs, four alarm inputs, two tacho inputs and two additional auxiliary inputs.
