Arcadia Yachts has delivered hull #1 of Arcadia 85S. The all-new “special” edition of the Arcadia 85 with sky-lounge is a 25.9m motoryacht built for an American owner.

The Arcadia 85S has been designed to be a family yacht. The vessel combines different exterior functions over two decks.

The builder says this yacht has improved soundproofing capacity index thanks to its Balsa core sandwich structure which has been used instead of PVC for the fore part of the hull.

The Italian shipyard claims her advanced semi-planing hull allows for efficient performances and that her aluminium superstructure significantly reduces weight and fuel consumption and related running costs of its low-power engines.

Arcadia 85S has a full load displacement of 67 tonnes. She is powered by twin MAN diesels R6-730hp each (optional engines 2xMAN 1000hp), giving a maximum speed of 18 knots and cruise speed ranging 12-16 knots. She has been equipped to be capable of a range of some 850nm at 12.0 knots.

New sky-lounge concept
Arcadia 85S features a new sky-lounge concept. This area converts into a sheltered third-deck, completely closed and protected by 360 degree windows that can be opened and raised up to meet the hard-top, exactly as it happens on cars.

This features allows for the whole upper-deck area to become much more flexible and usable with any weather condition. On the third deck are fitted the wheelhouse, a lounge with sofas and coffee tables, wet-bar and a sun-deck externally in the aft.

In addition, solar cells of latest generation are integrated between external and internal surface of double-glazing panels fitted on top of the largest part of the superstructure.

Arcadia says these panels, each composed of hundreds of high performance solar cells, supply up to 3.5kw, which is enough to guarantee self sufficiency energy for many equipments and electrical systems, like refrigerators, water circulation, toilettes, lights, A/V, electronics, while recharging batteries.

This feature also provides a significant saving of diesel oil, less pollution and more comfort on board thanks to the substantial reduction of noise and vibration, the boatbuilder claims.

In addition, each double-glazing panel contains a special gas named Krypton, which guarantees a high thermo-isolating coefficient, up to 18° of thermal cooling between interior and exterior temperatures, the equivalent of a 20cm brick wall.

Design and layout
The Arcadia 85S hull #1 has four guest cabins at the lower deck, including the owner’s cabin, a VIP cabin and two twin cabins. The bow of the yacht offers accommodation for a crew of four.

The  garage can accommodate a 4m vessel and a two-seater PWC. In this version has an open-spaced galley to the dining area.

Headquartered in Naples, Arcadia Yachts operates a 36.000m2 facility and produces a series of fibreglass yachts ranging from 55ft to 115ft.

The company has said it plans to increase its building capacity to yachts ranging from 145ft up to 180ft in steel and aluminium.
