Middle East yacht services group ART Marine has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Kleindienst Group at the Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS) to develop six marinas within the ‘Heart of Europe’ resorts complex which is being developed in The World at Dubai.

The resorts will be spread across six islands representing Sweden, Monaco, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and St Petersburg and will only be accessible by water, so boats and yachts will be integral to the $850m project.

Those purchasing a sizeable property at The Heart of Europe will receive a Riva ISEO runabout, valued at around AED1.2m, as part of the overall sales package. ART Marine is the local dealer for the Italian yacht brand.

Greg Stinner, CEO of ART Marine, says: “We are very pleased and proud to be involved in this project. Planning is at an early stage but the six marinas will include a total of some 200 berths for yachts up to 50m (164ft) or so. Construction work on the project has started and the first island is due to be completed next year.”

Bruno Meier, COO and head of the ART Marinas Division, said: “Although there are six marinas of different sizes, we will treat it as one marina as we develop the project. As well as planning the marinas, we will also be managing and operating them once they are completed.”

Marinas are very much a growth area for ART Marine. Within the past two weeks it has announced its participation in new projects in the Maldives and Jordan and a number of other projects are still being negotiated including ones in the Caribbean and Egypt.
