Superyacht refit firm Atlantic Refit Center (ARC) has signed an exclusive six-year contract with the port authorities of La Rochelle, France to run the port’s dry dock (L 176m x W 22m) and technical area (5,000sq m). The news comes not long after ARC won the international bid to manage the development of superyacht refit work at the port.
“Due to winning this contract, Atlantic Refit Center is now the only shipyard on the west coast of France able to welcome superyachts up to 140m in length, in perfect safety conditions,” says the company in a statement. “The main development project with the port authorities is to cover the large dry dock to ensure an even better service for their clients and far more efficient working conditions for themselves.”
ARC has also strengthened its commercial team with the appointment of Patricia Pontis. Based in Monaco, Pontis will be in charge of commercial sales, targeting captains and management companies for the shipyard.
Pontis has more than 10 years’ experience in the yachting industry. She started with Archibald Reid Yacht Brokers, chartering and supervising yachts, before joining Invest Associates Yacht Painters as sales manager, selling and supervising for different refit and building shipyards.
From 2011 to 2014, Pontis worked as a sales representative for a well-known refit yard in Marseille.
