At its annual Cannes show press briefing, Azimut-Benetti Group CEO Vincenzo Poerio announced that two contracts in excess of 100m (328ft) have been signed. Due to confidentiality agreements with the owners, no further details can be given at this time.
Fabio Ermetto, Benetti’s recently appointed chief commercial officer, told SB: “To deal with these new orders we have to build a new construction hall which will be 120m (394ft). We have recently completed a new 90m hall and the new one will take some months to build.”
The press briefing emphasised that Benetti is working on a programme to strengthen the group’s market position. This includes applying lessons learnt from the car and aviation industries and applying them to the group’s manufacturing processes. This is both to improve quality and cut costs. Benetti is also using actions from these industries to enhance its competitiveness and improve customer care services.
The company is also driving its branding forward through a series of actions. Among these are operating locally and globally, which involves adapting its products specifically for each of its markets. Greater use of innovation is being developed in part to contribute towards launching new models. Ongoing long-term investment in the group will continue in order to offer new products for a growing market.
