Azimut|Benetti has reported that its 15th YachtMaster event broke all previous records of attendance having attracted over 180 participants including captains, surveyors, owner’s delegates, and also including sponsors and the international press. Superyacht Business was in attendance and was tweeting live from the event.
The YachtMaster was held in Saturnia, in the Italian Tuscan hills from 4th to 6th February and the entire Spa Boutique Terme Saturnia hotel was taken over for the occasion. Over the three days the attendees were involved in intense workshops and meetings dealing with the numerous challenges that the management of a superyacht requires. The teambuilding and social activities included cardboard ship building, golf, lego marina building, a gala dinner and an ancient Rome themed party.
Alessandro Gallifuoco, Azimut|Benetti’s quality and aftersales manager, kicked off proceedings with a presentation about Benetti’s commercial activity: Out of a total existing fleet of 174 yachts, a further 44 under construction will be added, including twelve over 50m in length and four over 90m. The shipyard also emphasised its continuing committment to aftersales with a new online diagnostics tool soon to be launched.
Alessandro Gallifuoco comments: “We’re really very pleased with these results. The community that we’re concerned with here is very numerous and comes from all over the world. It includes not only captains but a series of complementary specialisations.”
The annual event dedicated to the captains of Azimut/Benetti superyachts, has not only celebrated 15 years of success, but is now also the central part of the “Year-long YachtMaster” project that will keep the community in constant communication by means of workshops and stages regarding relevant professional issues. At the heart of this project is the Linkedin Azimut|Benetti Yachtmaster, thanks to the captains who are able to share all the technical and bureaucratic issues inherent to their activity.
