Spanish trade association ANEN has announced that 217 leisure boats were registered in February this year, an increase of 5% compared to the same month in 2013. The news is based on official figures revealed by the Spanish maritime authority.

“We forecasted stability and moderated growth and that’s beginning to come true. February’s boat registration data enables us to estimate that by the end of 2014 the leisure marine industry in Spain can achieve much better results than in 2013,” comments Carlos Sanlorenzo, ANEN secretary general.

The data shows that 19 boats were registered for charter purposes between January and February 2014, a 58% increase compared to same period last year. This year’s result is 46% up compared to the pre-crisis data in 2007.
