Two years after the introduction of its first 5000 Fly (La Pellegrina), French shipyard Couach has launched the second unit in its 50m (164ft) vessel range. She was ordered in December 2012 and her delivery is slated for May 2014 following her sea trials.
The owner has been heavily involved in the project and requested an extension to the upper deck to have space for a table and seating for 14 guests and also wanted to create a private area of 100 sqm on the flybridge by extending the bridge canopy. To accommodate his requests the engineers at Couach completely redesigned these areas. The yacht’s interiors were created by Couach and Metrica Interior.
Significant attention has been paid to the reduction of noise and vibration levels. This is the result of advanced acoustc studies and detailed research data the result of which are quiet living spaces.
The Couach 5000Fly is equipped with 2 x 5226 HP MTU engines providing a maximum speed of 28 knots and a cruising speed of 24 knots. Her navigational equipments meets IMO standards and this, coupled with her range, will allow for transatlantc capabilites crossing at a displacement speed of 12 knots.
