The Dubai International Boat Show has announced a partnership with Dutch superyacht builder Feadship to sponsor the VIP Majlis hospitality lounge at the 2015 show.

In an interview with SB in Dubai, exhibition director Thomas de Oliveira said: “Feadship is the main sponsor for the Majlis. This is the first time that we have had a major superyacht builder as a sponsor. Feadship will use the Majlis as a platform to introduce other initiatives to promote their brand in the Middle East region.”

Talking about the development of the show, de Oliveira added: “We have a strategy of developing other events that will run at the same time as the Dubai Boat Show. One of the events will be the annual boating conference, which is being re-branded as the ‘Middle East Yachting Conference’ to take place on the 2nd of March and will feature presentations on marina developments, superyacht design and legal issues related to boating in the Gulf.”

According to the organisers, the show is 95% sold out with a total of 750 exhibitors and 450 boats on display. There will be 20 superyachts over 24m in length with names including locally based Majesty Yachts with several of its range and overseas manufacturers Hatteras, PR Marine and Sanlorenzo.

The show will be held at the Dubai International Marine Club from March 3-7. The organisers have negotiated special rates with Emirates Airlines and with the adjacent Habtoor Grand Hotel for visitors and exhibitors.
