Following 18 years leading yacht brokerage Edmiston & Co, founder Nicholas Edmiston has announced plans to step back from the day-to-day management of the business. Effective immediately, son Jamie Edmiston replaces him as chief executive, while the senior Edmiston assumes a new role as chairman.

Edmiston & Co was founded by Nicholas Edmiston in Monaco in 1996. Initially with offices in Monte Carlo and London, the company grew over the next decade with offices opening in Mexico City, New York and Abu Dhabi. “I have been involved in the yacht business for over 45 years. I am very proud to have built a business that stands for quality and expertise and innovation in what is a highly competitive market,” said Nicholas Edmiston.

“Now is the right time to hand over day-to-day management to Jamie who has played a key role in Edmiston’s success. With his knowledge of the yacht business as well as his expertise in the luxury brand space I have no doubt that he will continue to take Edmiston from strength to strength.”

Jamie Edmiston was with the company from 2001 to 2011 before leading an investment into British luxury brand Linley.
