Esthec, a Dutch manufacturer of composite decking, has opened a new office in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. The company says that its expansion addresses the growing demand for its products in Latin America and the US.
The Ft Lauderdale office is the fourth Esthec location worldwide. The company already has offices in the Dutch town of Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht as well as in Livorno, Italy and Zurich, Switzerland.
“We want to bring our operations closer to our American customers,” says Marcel van der Spek, commercial director at Esthec. “The American yacht-building industry is increasing again, so we are keeping a close eye on the latest technical innovations and trends. We have a designer and project manager working in our office in Ft Lauderdale with vast experience in the nautical world and a strong sense of design for both the nautical and residential industries,” he adds.
The opening of the US office has resulted in a number of new contracts being signed, including one with Boston BoatWorks. The boatbuilder decided to include Esthec decking as a standard feature on the MJM Yachts they build.
The move will also benefit the ongoing work with the US branches of VanDutch and Zeelander. “Esthec has been working closely with these two leading Dutch yacht-builders for many years and with the US office communications will only get easier,” the company says in a statement.
