With just 11 weeks to the first edition of the new Phuket Charter and Brokerage Show, due to be held February 12-15, 2015, news of the first yacht that will be there has been received. The superyacht in question is the 69m (227ft) Australian-built Saluzi, which will be shown at the new event by Monaco-based broker Yachtzoo.
In a press statement Yachtzoo said: “The 69m Australian-built Saluzi has recently completed an extensive refit led by the interior designer Luiz de Basto to ready her for charter to discerning guests. The contemporary artist Li Jiwei also contributed to make her one of a kind. She accommodates 32 guests in 16 cabins with a modern and welcoming interior.”
Yachtzoo explained that Saluzi has been “deliberately and concertedly designed for chartering in Asia as she can accommodate more guests that the usual charter yacht operating in the region. The Phuket Yacht Show will be her first public appearance in Asia and we are expecting a great deal of excitement about her.”
A spokesman for Singapore Yacht Events told SB: “The show is definitely on. We have been waiting to sign up this first yacht through Yachtzoo before issuing more information about the event. We are working with a number of other yachts to be included in the new event.”
The Phuket event will be held at Yacht Haven Marina, where a new superyacht pontoon extension has been installed by Marinetek. This will allow large yachts of up to 100m (328ft) to be accommodated.
The extension includes a new 265m (870ft) attenuating pontoon with two 50m (164ft) finger piers. The pontoon will have pedestals with 200 amp, three-phase supply and 60 amp single-phase supply. It is understood that the new pontoon has only recently been completed, which is why the show was re-scheduled to February from late 2014.
