Series K as a construction package by charter and superyacht specialist Floating Life. The range, designed by Studio Sculli, comprises semi-custom yacht. K40, a 40m explorer yacht, is the first unit of the range and currently under construction. Also in build is the 42m yacht K42. A 36m and a 45m project have now joined the fleet.

Floating Life has expanded its Series K with two models. The Swiss company has also revealed the business strategy behind the platform.

The charter and superyacht specialist describes its Series K as a full service package starting with a project for the development of both owning company and yacht.

The range is born from the union between Floating Life and Studio Sculli in Sarzana (La Spezia). Both companies work together with the client to make sure the personal touch is reflected in the layout, interior design and décor, as each project is semi-custom.

The common line of all the Series K is given by the study of the hull, which is primarily focused on the very obvious edge, the cutting of the bow, and the forms, allowing the transom to be more easily adapted to different versions.

Two Series K projects are currently under construction. The 40m exploration yacht K40 is in build at Cerri Cantieri Navali.

Cantieri delle Marche is building a 42m project K42.

K36 and K45

Joining the Series K platform is K36. This is a 36m expedition yacht powered by CAT engines for an expected cruising speed of 12ks and top speed of 14ks. The yacht has been for a range of 5400nm at 8.5ks.

K45 is the second new design. It contrasts the concept developed on K36, trying to exaggerate as much as possible the feeling of elongation of the boat, more lightened in her volumes. The height of the decks is the same; the length is greater but with smaller deckhouse compared to smaller models, and this gives her a sportier appearance, lighter and definitively more attractive.

The 45m yacht will have the same engine, hull lines, technical parts, engine room and systems of the previous models to optimize the production. All such elements have been developed and studied in depth with the naval engineering office Vannini – Oleggini in La Spezia, Italy.

Tank-tested platform

All Series K projects are based on a proven tank-tested technical platform (hull plus installations) and “moulded” on the experience in long-term management of private and commercial vessels.

Floating Life says that with Series K it offers an all-inclusive package including technical survey during construction, which can be done in any shipyard guaranteeing the correct quality/price ration, reliability and delivery schedule. The package also includes the post-sale yacht management for four years after delivery.

The Series K package comprises:

  • Owning Company Structure
  • Semi-Custom Design based on tested construction platforms
  • International yard Selection
  • Construction Survey&Reporting
  • Flag/Class Registration
  • Crew Selection&Management
  • Fiscal&Administrative Management
  • Chartering (for commercial vessels)
