Alloy Yachts, which wound down its business two years ago, is now selling its manufacturing facility in Henderson. The New Zealand Herald reports that the former shipyard is located on a 1.8 hectare site in Henderson. Alloy had occupied the site for 30 years.
“The premises are arguably the largest of its type in west Auckland,” Bruce Whillans of Whillans Realty Group told the newspaper. The property will be sold by tender closing on November 26.
The former Alloy facility has 11,750sq m of warehouse and mezzanine storage with 1,250sq m of office space. Nine warehouse bays range from 8.6m-14.5m in height.
The realtor said that Auckland is facing a “critical shortage” of industrial space. “So this site presents investors and owner occupiers with a strategic industrial asset of an enviable scale,” said Whillans.
