VF Yachts is a new brand introduced through a joint venture between Fraser Yachts and V.Group to enhance Fraser’s new-build and refit supervision services.
The new brand will combine Fraser’s extensive superyacht experience with V.Group’s considerable project management and engineering expertise, which will be delivered by V.Delta, the V.Group operating arm that delivers the latter services to the superyacht and cruise ship markets.
V.Group is a 17% shareholder of Fraser Yachts and, as one of the world’s leading ship management businesses, V.Group has for some time had a leisure division that provides officers and crew for yachts and cruise ships.
Of the new brand, VF Yachts says that the in-depth knowledge that the two parents hold is “shared companywide, providing prospective owners access to the latest concepts in yachting and assisting them to follow their dream with extensive knowledge of the yachting industry’s dynamics and actors.”
The new VF Yachts brand was launched at the London Yacht, Jet & Prestige Car Show, which opened on Wednesday. It will operate on a global basis with a particularly strong presence in Europe, the US and Asia.
VF Yachts will offer a wide range of technical services required in delivering a new-build or refit project, from concept through to operational readiness. VF says it will target yachts in the 40m-140m (131ft-460ft) range, although it has experience to go larger if necessary.
Fraser Yachts and V.Delta already have experience between them of over 20 yacht projects from 25m-140m (82ft-460ft). Fraser’s latest project is a 92m (302ft) yacht currently in build at Feadship’s Makkum yard and due for delivery at the end of April. This involved Fraser working with the owner over a four-year period.
The VF range of services will involve working with brokers, owners, designers and shipyards and will include:
Planning and investment plans
Technical support in yard selection
Design and construction supervision
