Marine hardware manufacturer Lewmar has reported that its custom division is registering an unprecedented number of fit outs, with many projects under manufacture in the factory, including products for the new 126ft Hoek designed classic yacht, build by Claasen.

Lewmar designs and manufactures innovative control solutions for sail and power boats from 20ft up to 250ft. Design engineering, production and proof load testing are all completed in its headquarters and factories located in Havant, in the south coast of England.

The company has recently heavily invested in the testing and quality control of its products in order to deliver the safest, best engineered custom products. Following manufacture and assembly, each custom piece of equipment is subject to rigorous testing by on-site engineers. Every component from blocks, through to winches and windlass are submitted to a load test to a minimum of 10% above their safe working load.

With a broad portfolio of product, which includes hardware, winches, hydraulics, windlasses, anchors and thrusters, Lewmar can also provide highly specialized bespoke systems tailored to a boats specific requirements or functional needs.

Lewmar says it is expecting to continue to enjoy a very full Custom order book until the end of the year with many additional projects going through its design and production system.
