Monaco Marine La Ciotat has announced a dynamic start to the refit season, with the yard enjoying a high occupancy rate.
The company, which specialises in super and megayacht refits, has delivered three major projects since early September — the MY 360 (a 47m ISA), MY Zita (47m Benetti) and MY Kolaha (63m ISA).
Zita came to La Ciotat for an express yard period to improve its stabilization system with the integration of zero speed technology. Her captain, Stanley Benngård, says: “We had a particularly short timeframe for these works and Monaco Marine rose to this challenge successfully. They were quick to respond, professional throughout the project and within the set budget, all qualities we look for in a service shipyard.”
With no less than 16 projects underway, the shipyard is working full throttle on a variety of refits from complete paint jobs, stabilisation, regulatory inspections, mechanical works and interior refits.
In the coming months, Monaco Marine La Ciotat will deliver several major paint works, an important part of its business at the site which has the largest paint shed in southern Europe at 90m (L) x 25m (W) x 32m (H).
Monaco Marine La Ciotat specialises in the repair and refit of yachts from 30m (98ft) to over 100m (328ft) in length. The site was custom designed for this activity between 2002 and 2007 and has 17 hard standing positions for yachts up to 80m (262ft).
