Built in aluminium, 'Sarastar' is a 900gt vessel and the largest project built to date by the Savona-based shipyard.

Mondomarine has announced the launch of Sarastar. The 60m project is a semi displacement motoryacht and the 65th yacht that Mondomarine has delivered to date.

Built in aluminium, Sarastar is a 900gt vessel and the largest project built to date by the Savona-based shipyard.

The shipyard says the yacht has been designed to reach a speed of over 19.5kt. The yacht is equipped with two MTU engines (16V 400 M73L).

The project is a collaboration between the shipyard’s engineering department and yacht designer Luca Dini.

With a beam of 10.5m, Sarastar is the first of a series of boats that compete the Mondomarine range from 415m to 64m pencilled by the Italian designer.

A complete closed forward area in which the garage has been located is one of the features of this yacht.

Tenders are completely hidden under a flush bridge. The shipyard suggests that this area can be used as helipad, sunbathing area or dance floor.

Five cabins are located on the lower deck, the owner’s on the fore side of the main deck and a full beam sky-lounge on the upper deck.

Future projects

In addition, Mondomarine has announced the delivery of the M40 Explorer, currently under construction, is scheduled on the spring 2017. This project is in collaboration with designer Sergio Cutolo of Hydrotec.

Also due for delivery is the Luca dini-designed M54.

During the alst 11 years Mondomarine has sold 21  yachts over 40m; seven of these are over 50m vessels.
