One of Europe’s leading in-water boat shows, the Festival de la Plaisance de Cannes, has changed its name to the Cannes Yachting Festival. Event organiser Reed Exhibitions says the change is effective as of the 37th edition in September 2014.

Sylvie Ernoult, festival manager, explains the change as “a wish on the part of the owners and organisers to express the increasingly international positioning of the Festival, a major gathering bringing together yacht lovers and industry professionals.”

The 2014 Cannes Yachting Festival runs from September 9-14 on the French Riviera. Around 550 yachts will be on display, with an estimated 50,000 people in attendance.
