Sarah Corn has been promoted to the newly created role of COO at Bluewater, an international yacht services provider. The appointment, says Bluewater, follows a year of “sensational” growth for the Antibes-based firm.

Corn first joined the company in 2004 and has since played a fundamental role in the development of Bluewater Crew & Training. Starting as a training coordinator, she was rapidly promoted to Training Department & Office Manager in the Antibes head office.

This new position, says Bluewater, was created to give her full responsibility of all Training and Crew department operations, including logistics and profitability.

Bluewater claims to be the largest dedicated yacht crew training provider and the most prolific crew agency worldwide. “Staffing levels in Crew and Training alone have nearly quadrupled in the past five years as have our number of products, courses and services,” says the company in a statement.

John Wyborn, Bluewater director, describes Corn’s appointment as a “radical new development” in the operation of the company. “We have now grown to the point where we need a specialist manager to take control of day-to-day operations,” he says. “This will free the directors of Bluewater to focus on their vision of making the Crew and Training department a significant player not only in the superyacht industry but in the wider field of commercial shipping.”

Bluewater offers a complete range of yacht services, including brokerage, charter, crew recruitment, management and training. The company has offices in Antibes, London, Moscow, Miami, Palma and Zug, Switzerland.
