Gökova Ören Marina, located on Turkey’s Aegean coast, is due to open by the end of summer. The marina’s two founders, Önder Karaduman and İsmail Koçak, are both engineers and sailors.
At the moment, the marina is nearly ready with 10 floating docks of 700m and a main breakwater of 860m in length.
Located in Gökova Bay, which is a popular Turkish yacht charter destination, the marina will also host bareboat charter yachts. The side of the marina that faces Ören Beach will be separated for this purpose.
Zafer Kutluğ, technical coordinator of the marina, told Turkish yacht magazine Naviga that they hope to attract medium-sized yachts instead of superyachts.
The berthing capacity of the marina is 410 on sea and 150 on land for yachts of up to 30m. The marina will also offer technical services with a 100-tonne travel lift and 40-tonne trailer.
