Hong Kong-headquartered Anglo Eastern Yacht Services Ltd is a new yacht management joint venture set up by Northrop & Johnson Asia (N&JA) and Anglo-Eastern Ship Management. The new venture will be announced tomorrow at the Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show.
Anglo Eastern Yacht Services will provide a complete range of services for superyachts, including crew recruitment and management, technical management, operational support, flag state, classification and other regulatory compliance, security management, charter management insurance including claim and dispute handling, fuel, lubricants, provisions, stores and spare parts supplies, port and marina logistics and agency arrangements, accounting, financial and payroll administration and corporate services.
The new company is fully accredited for managing yachts according to the International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention (the ISM Code) and holds a Document of Compliance issued by DNV GL.
Heading up the joint venture is Peter Cremers, CEO of Anglo-Eastern, and Bart Kimman, managing director of N&JA. Both executives are keen yachtsmen who saw the potential of coupling Anglo-Eastern’s proven management skills and resources with the commercial and operational expertise of N&JA to create a yacht management services joint company to serve the steadily increasing fleet of superyachts in Asia.
“Whilst Northrop & Johnson is the expert in superyachts, the joint venture with the Anglo-Eastern Group combines the best of two worlds,” says Kimman. “We have combined to offer in-depth knowledge of compliance, administration with intimate practical knowledge and experience of how superyachts should be run.”
Kimman told SB: “The new company is starting with two yachts of 32m and 56m that N&JA is already managing and aims to build on that. N&JA now works from its main offices in Hong Kong and Singapore, plus our people in other markets across the region. We still plan to set up an office in Malaysia in the future.”
Anglo-Eastern is one of the leaders in the global commercial marine management sector. It was established over 50 years ago and now has over 20,000 professional seafarers on its books and a staff of 1,300 based at 15 global offices.
Anglo Eastern Yacht Services has offices in Wan Chai and the Hong Kong Gold Coast.
