US brokerage Northrop & Johnson has opened a new office in Nanjing, China. Together with a network of representatives throughout the country, the China office will be dedicated to serving clients across the region.
A statement from Northrop & Johnson says the initial goal of the China office is to facilitate the growth of the charter market in Asia. This will be done through a charter-to-buy initiative.
In addition to the market introduction of imported yachts, Northrop & Johnson’s China office will also aid Chinese shipyards in establishing links with the international yachting market.
“I am impressed with the skills and input of our new team in The People’s Republic of China,” says Bart Kimman, managing director of Northrop & Johnson Asia. “We spent a long time trying to find the ideal group of people to further develop our business objectives and add value to the Northrop & Johnson brand in Asia.”
At the helm of the China office are Hugo van Schaik and Feng Ye, executive directors for Northrop & Johnson Asia. Local managers include Jin Hai Shen, Pan Jian and Ericka Duan.
Northrop & Johnson China is headquartered in Nanjing, with additional offices and personnel located in Guangzhou and Qingdao.
