duboisOrganisers of the NZ Millennium Cup have announced that the 2015 regatta will feature a Dubois race day.

“In recognition of the significant number of Dubois-designed superyachts built by New Zealand yards, and Ed Dubois’ ongoing stance of support towards the New Zealand industry, the NZMarine Export Group has named one of the 2015 Millennium Cup race days, the Dubois race day,” reads a statement.

The regatta is set to take place from 21-23 January, and will be held in the Bay of Islands.

The Millennium Cup is the South Pacific’s premier superyacht regatta and since its inception in 2000, the event has enjoyed growth in both attending yacht numbers and supporting sponsors.

The sponsorship compliment features local firms and international companies operating in the superyacht industry. The event incorporates the best of New Zealand hospitality and guests will enjoy three days of shore-side entertainment and three exciting races.

Confirmed are three returning Dubois entrants, including the 39.7m Janice of Wyoming, 36m Bliss, and 33m Silvertip, the reigning champion.  Other competing yachts include Silencio, Sassafras, Steinlager II and Antaeus.
