Ed Dubois, principal of Dubois Naval Architects, has passed away at 64. Following a period of illness last year, Dubois had been in better health and working as normal. Unexpectedly he was admitted to hospital last week and died on Thursday, March 24.

On his death, Dubois was working on the 58m Ngoni, a project for Royal Huisman dubbed “The Beast” due to her 233ft rig. The vessel is due for launch in spring 2017.

The business will continue with Peter Bolke who has taken the role of managing director with immediate effect. Bolke is a senior designer and has been part of the Dubois team for 23 years.

He leaves his wife and four children.
