Superyacht builder Palmer Johnson has hired Hansen & Young Inc. to auction off the production equipment, including about 4,500 lots of woodworking and metalworking tools.

The tools are available in an online auction that closes on Tuesday, March 29.

Palmer Johnson announced last year that it would move to the Netherland. Its Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin facility closed in May with the loss of around 100 jobs.

The yard is set to be purchased by Bay Shipbuilding Co, whose commercial ship repair yard adjoins the Palmer Johnson site.

Bay Shipbuilding is member the Fincantieri Marine Group, the US arm of the Italian shipbuilding group.

Fincantieri is also a superyacht builder in its own right but it is also one of the world’s largest shipyard groups with over 20 such facilities globally.
