mybaTaking place between 28th April and 2nd May, this year’s MYBA Charter Show will see a number of new improvements intended to enhance the participant experience.

Pre-registered attendees, many of whom are employed throughout the French Riviera, will be offered a convenient and reduced rate shuttle service, provided by HDS Limousines, Cannes.

Operating from key pick up points, including Port Vauban, Antibes and Aéroport Nice Côte d’Azur, the service will transport attendees to the show avoiding associated fuel, motorway toll and parking fee costs. At the end of the show attendees will be offered a return service with luggage collection from Genoa hotels. Individual seats or cars should be booked in advance directly with HDS Limousine.

The Chefs’ Competition will make a return, this year sponsored by our sister title and leading international consumer magazine, Superyacht World (SYW) as media partner. Asked about the importance of menu preparation and service provided during luxury yacht charters, SYW editor, Paul Ashton, comments: “Time and again, our conversations with charter guests’ reinforce the important contribution of skilful and flexible chefs and service staff who can adapt and respond to guests needs at the highest culinary levels.”

Charter broker, Sarah Sebastian, who organises the Chefs’ Competition on behalf of MYBA states: “Participant uptake has been good once again, with an ‘International Brunch with Baked Goods Basket’ theme as the main challenge, with the added footnote ‘Made Onboard is Best!”

She adds, “A second award category entitled ‘Best Service Award’ will recognise the welcome offered onboard by crew, and the all important ability to work as a team when presenting and serving the fruit of the galley.

“If last year was anything to go by, we expect around 150+ people at the prize giving ceremony, to be held on Thursday 1st May between 5.30pm and 7.00pm where champagne co-sponsor and provider, Veuve Clicquot, have provisioned 60 bottles for the purpose.”

Coinciding with the 30th Anniversary since MYBA itself was formed, the traditional end-of-show Crew Party will mark both occasions. The party will take place from 9.00pm Friday 2nd May inside BICU Restaurant and will have a heroes fancy dress theme.
