Dutch sailor Wouter Verbraak has joined Sevenstar Yacht Transport in the Netherlands as part of the company’s yacht racing logistics team.

Sevenstar says the appointment follows strong demand for a full-service approach to racing yacht logistics including the on-time delivery of racing yachts as well as spares, containers and RIBs.

“We are very pleased to add Wouter to the team,” says Sevenstar MD Richard Klabbers. “He has vast experience in the yacht racing arena and has won many of the world’s biggest sailing races with his strategic skills and team approach. He is the right man to build partnerships with our clients.”

Verbraak won his first big race in the Admiral’s Cup in 1999 and, in 2000, won the Sydney to Hobart Race with line honours followed by a long string of podium places in international sailing races. He has participated in no less than three editions of the Volvo Ocean Race.

Wouter will continue his career in yacht racing, says Klabbers, enabling him to be present on site at top international regattas.

Sevenstar Yacht Transport provides yacht shipping services. The company operates a global network of destinations and a fleet of over 120 independent carriers.

In addition, the company is planning to further expand its Racing Yacht Logistics division in France, Australia and Spain.
