South African-based Southern Wind shipyard has announced that it is working actively to ultimate the outfitting of Grande Orazio, a 24,72m (78.74ft) sail yacht. The project is the second hull of its SW82 mini-series and is due to launch in January 2014.
Grande Orazio has been designed to meet the owner’s expectation to have a yacht capable to deliver high performance on the most important offshore regatta fields as well as comfortable family vacations.
She features a flush deck layout with sleek and sporty coach-roof geometries. The yacht features a sail area of 248,00sq m, and is fitted with high modulus Southern Spars carbon mast and boom, EC6 carbon rigging, carbon foil for furler, racing winches, racing removable bow sprit and a keel with deeper draft (4,20 m vs 4m). Her main engine is a Steyer MO 190hp@3500rpm.
