Polish luxury boatbuilder Sunreef Yachts says it has received an order for its recently unveiled Sunreef 156 catamaran project from an unnamed Chinese client.
The deal is estimated to be worth up to €22m (US$29.6m), reports local news site Trojmiasto.pl.
“A client who was impressed by the exterior design of one of our previous models has asked us to build a similar [craft],” says Robert Blazejak, director of the design department of Sunreef Yachts. “Chinese customers are quite particular. The ranks of millionaires in this country are rapidly expanding.”
Company representatives say that the craft will have a total floorspace of 841sq m.
“The client is very demanding, and the [craft] will be fitted solely with high-quality equipment,” says Karolina Paszkiewicz, a PR and marketing officer at Sunreef.
The Sunreef 156 is part of a new line of ultra-modern, high-performance sailing catamarans that was recently presented by the Polish boatbuilder.
Based in Gdansk, on the Polish Baltic Sea, the company is owned by French businessman Francis Lapp.
