The Turkish Exporters’ Assembly association said that the country’s ship and yacht exports reached US$1.3bn in 2014, according to a story in the Hurriyet Daily News. That represents a 10.1% increase over the previous year.

The export association did not separate yacht exports from commercial vessels. About 72% of the exports originated in Istanbul and 18% from the northwestern province of Yalova.

The highest-value of exports were made to Norway, accounting for about US$224.5m, followed by the Marshall Islands, with US$165m. Then followed Iraq (US$121.5m), Malta (US$93.6m), Germany (US$88.3m), and Italy (US$64.6m).
