Project Nova is dubbed as the world's first FDHF with bybryd propulsion

Heesen’s ultra silent 50m yacht Project Nova

Van Berge Henegouwen (VBH) has won the contract to design and install the entertainment system for the 50m motoryacht YN 17850 Project Nova.

Presented at Monaco Yacht show last week, Project Nova is the world’s first Fast Displacement Hull Form equipped with hybrid propulsion currently in build at Heesen Yachts.

The highly sophisticated system will have an exceptional level of flexibility that will allow it to be rapidly upgraded to meet the specific requirements of the owner before delivery and in the years thereafter.

Project Nova will feature the brand-new pivot control app from VBH. Simple and modern, it has been designed to provide access to and control of a wide range of systems onboard.

Pivot also provides access to yacht information such as weather, culinary menus, activities and more via its dashboard. The app may be installed on any current generation iOS device to provide a range of entertainment and services that are limited only by the imagination of the owner.

Other key features of the audio-visual system include:

  • Wireless touch-screen controllers, Blu-ray players and Airplay in all internal zones.
  • Dedicated satellite receivers for free-to-air TV and radio channels.
  • 4K video capability.
  • The latest model ultra high definition displays.
  • Future-proofing ready for new technology via digital audio distribution and a 16 x 16 audio video matrix that gives a remarkable level of adaptability.

Govert Hermsen, VBH project manager, comments: “We are very excited to be involved in this exceptional project. She will come with cutting-edge AV/IT technology to deliver the very best and very latest in entertainment experiences to the owner and his guests. And with its advanced design the system will be able to remain at the forefront of entertainment technology for years to come.”
