Vitters Shipyard has announced the start of the production of high-quality Performance Cruising Sloop. This 33-metre sailing yacht, with naval architecture and exterior styling by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design is the first yacht under construction for this new design studio.
The Vitters team has a longstanding relationship with Naval Architect Malcolm McKeon. This project offers both the opportunity to extend their cooperation in high performance light weight construction.
The clients’ brief called for a comfortable and well performing go anywhere sailing yacht. Sailing performance is paramount and sail handling and control will be state-of-the-art.
Her lifting keel, with a stroke between 5, and 3.75 metres, offers the combination between good upwind performance and access to shallow waters and anchorages.
The lightweight hull of this sailing yacht is made of carbon fibre composite and is under construction at Green Marine, Vitters’ composite subsidiary in Southampton, UK. The carbon fibre hull is scheduled for completion in June 2015.
The interior design by Design Unlimited will be executed in light coloured wood.
The new 33-metre carbon fibre sloop will be delivered in 2016 at Vitters Shipyard in Zwartsluis, The Netherlands.
