Williams Performance Tenders in the UK is investing around £1m to expand its manufacturing capacity, add new offices and undertake further product development to meet rising demand. The move will see its Oxford factory shortly being enlarged by 6,000sq ft to 48,000sq ft, giving 15% more space and providing for a 20% increase in output. The company is also taking on at least five more people.
A press statement at the CWM FX London Boat Show said: “2014 was an exceptionally strong year for Williams, as the company celebrated its 10-year anniversary in July, as well as its strongest-ever order book. The company also saw increasing levels of business from volume sailboat manufacturers such as Hanse and the Beneteau Group with its Prestige range. Both these manufacturers, along with other key brands such as Princess and Sunseeker, have designed their garages specifically to fit a Williams tender, providing a glowing endorsement of the brand’s popularity and appeal.”
At the London show, Williams introduced its new Sportjet range which was first launched at Cannes last year. The second model in the range, the Sportject 520, was debuted at London. Williams says that the Sportjet 520 offers a brand new concept for the sport RIB, combining the safety and fun of a jet drive with the high performance of the industry-leading BRP Rotax 4-Tec 200 engine.
