NPS Diesel and Solfic Energy & Emission have joined forces to launch joint venture Xeamos. Xeamos has been set up to design and supply IMO Tier III and Class approved systems. The new Dutch company will serve superyacht shipyards and owners as well as yards in the commercial sector.

Soot free diesel exhaust gases from generator sets on superyachts are becoming more and more a common standard not only driven by legislative rules, such as the IMO Tier III legislation, but also by yacht owner satisfaction as they want to avoid VIP guests experiencing particulates on deck, greasy deposits in swimming water and the smell of diesel fuel.

Officially launched in February 2017, Xeamos says its expertise covers all relevant aspects, such as wet exhaust systems, hull penetrations, back pressure control, classification, safety, space constraints and noise and vibration requirements.

The firm’s solutions include electrical zero soot systems, fuel burner zero soot systems, zero NOx systems and dual exhaust after treatment aystems for propulsion and generator engines. Xeamos says its specialties are custom engineered combinations of SCR, DPF and silencer.
