Superyacht brokerage and management firm Y.CO has appointed Ben Farnborough as the group’s new director of the Americas. He will be based out of the Y.CO office in Florida.

Farnborough joins the company from Boat International Media, where he worked for 13 years – most recently as associate publisher. In his new role, Farnborough will head Y.CO’s US team of brokers and will spearhead the expansion of Y.CO in the Americas and surrounding area.

Y.CO has built up a strong list of high-profile, US-based clients over 10 years in business and the company plans to expand the brand into the US over the next five years.

“Having built a powerhouse brand, managing the yachting interests of over 100 yachts globally, we are well positioned to expand into the Americas,” says Farnborough in a statement. “The US is the world’s largest economy, with a deep-rooted passion for yachting. I look forward to further exposing the market to the Y.CO portfolio of products and cementing the company’s brand on the US yachting scene.”

Co-founded by Gary Wright and Charlie Birkett in 2004, Y.CO specialises in superyacht sales, purchase, charter, management, new construction and refit from superyacht hubs worldwide.
