Organisers report that more than 13,000 visitors attended the fifth Antibes Yacht Show, which ran from April 7-10 in Port Vauban on the Cote d’Azur.

The event had 180 exhibitors and some 150 yachts on display.

They say many charters were booked and several smaller yachts of around 20m (66ft) sold.

Larger vessels from 37m-43m (121ft-141ft) were also very popular, with many offers received and several brokers making strong contacts.

This year’s exhibition included two new marquees replacing the previous small tent villages. A new refit area was home to several equipment and interior design companies.

During the event, officials announced that the Quai des Milliardaires is to be renamed Quai Camille Rayon in honour of Camille Rayon, founder of the International Yacht Club of Antibes (IYCA).
