ART Marine Marinas, based in Dubai, has been appointed operator and manager of the newly launched Reef Island Marina in Bahrain.
By the end of 2013, the marina, located in the heart of the city’s business quarter, will offer 80 berths for yachts between 11m to 60m (36ft-197ft); 40 berths are already under full operation.
Lulu Tourism Company is the developer of Reef Island and was established in 2002 as a joint venture between the Bahrain government and businessman Robert Mouawad.
Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, director of ART Marine Bahrain WLL, comments, “Reef Island is a great project offering exceptional living standards; it will quickly become an iconic destination in Bahrain. The association with Art Marine Marinas will perfectly complement the Reef Island hospitality and luxurious lifestyle. ART Marinas are widely known for the level of service that they provide and for their impressive marina network in the Middle East, and I am glad to see them managing this marina in Bahrain.”
Bruno Meier, general manager of ART Marine Marinas, says, “Reef Island is a luxurious and exclusive waterfront development and we are proud to have been selected for the management and operation of its marina. Like all the marinas in our network, we will implement our high standards of operation; however, we will also develop a unique ‘flavour’ for the marina that will reflect the great Bahraini lifestyle and culture.”
