The ongoing oil spill from the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico is causing growing concern for superyacht builder Trinity Yachts.
So far the spill has not reached either its New Orleans or Gulfport yards but there is a chance that the Gulfport yard may have to delay the delivery of the 58m (190ft) project Mi Sueno later this month.
“At this time, our delivery yachts can leave our yards and make it around the oil slick,” explains Billy Smith, vice president of Trinity.
“The New Orleans builds can leave our yard, head west on the Intracoastal Waterway, then go down to the Gulf well west of the slick.
“But our big concern is the Gulfport yard where officials may have to close off Back Bay Biloxi
