Claasen Shipyards has revealed the signing of a new yacht contract for a Hoek 38m (126ft) classic sloop, which will be classed under MCA LY2, ready for private use or charter. Designed for racing, the yacht will be fully aluminum ensuring structural strength while maintaining a light weight. In addition, it will feature a full set of carbon rigging and suit of modern racing sails.
The layout of the deck will consist of a centrally positioned guest cockpit and deckhouse, allowing for both inside and outside dining and lounging. Below deck the salon will be fitted with a fireplace and high-end entertainment systems. In addition, all guest areas will be fitted with hull ports to provide the required natural light. Forward of the engine room will be two guest cabins, one double and one twin. The area forward of the mast will contain a galley, crew mess, laundry and three cabins. The yacht is set to be completed in April 2015.
