UAE-based boatbuilder Gulf Craft has celebrated the run-up to its 30-year anniversary with a yachting lifestyle show in Doha, Qatar.
A wide range of boats, including superyachts, were part of the event which took place in The Pearl from October 27-29.
The show was held in association with Gulf Craft’s Doha agents, Aurora Yachts and Speed Marine, as well as lifestyle brand Tanagra. Gulf Craft’s Majesty 101 was the largest superyacht on display.
Gulf Craft has reported interest in expanding to the Qatari market. The company has seen an opportunity for growth as the country has significant waterfront projects in various stages of development.
“Qatar’s leisure marine market is vibrant with growing demand from private yacht owners and charter brokers in addition to several large waterfront developments, marinas and new berthing facilities coming online in the next few years – including those capable of accommodating the superyacht and megayacht category,” says Mohammed Bin Hussein Al Shaali, chairman of Gulf Craft.
Lusail City is one of Qatar’s main waterfront projects. Comprising a number of marinas, it has 1,500 new berthing slots under development.
Founded in the UAE in 1982, Gulf Craft produces a range of vessels from 6m-41m (20ft-135ft) and exports over 70 per cent to 40 countries through the Majesty yachts, Oryx and Silvercraft brands.
