Vancouver-based yacht designer and naval architecture bureau, Erdevicki Inc, has launched its 53m (174ft) ER175 design for a high-speed superyacht.
Erdevicki has joined up with the Dutch builder Icon Yachts and luxury yacht charter company Edmiston to promote the design at the Monaco show. The agreements with Icon and Edmiston are not exclusive.
The new design was developed following customer input and three months of research into market requirements.
“The design is customer led,” says Ilya Kovacevic, the London-based director of sales for Erdevicki. “We found in our research that younger high-net-worth individuals were not so concerned about environmental issues and were looking for a yacht that was fast, different and high performing.
“There is flexibity to go larger or smaller according to customer needs.”
The semi-displacement version of the ER175 will have a top speed in excess of 31kts while the full displacement yacht will reach 16kts.
Two Caterpillar C32ACERT marine diesels rated at 1,193kW will power the aluminium hull and superstructure, and three 80kW Kohler generators are also included.
Erdevicki’s will provide a complete design and build package to Icon, or any other yard that might build the ER175.
“Icon was chosen for their enthusiasm and interest in the project,” Kovacevic explains. “We discussed the ER175 with a number of yards in Europe and the US.
“Edmiston, who we have worked with for some time, expressed interest in marketing the design to their clients which they will do at Monaco.”
Icon is currently building a 1m model of design to include on their stand.
