Southern Boating magazine has recruited Carl Mischka, Bryce Muir and Lou Fagas to strengthen its national advertising sales organisation across the US.

“While magazines in virtually every industry including marine are actively laying off advertising staff, we see this as a prime opportunity to strengthen our sales force and ramp up our efforts in preparation for the forthcoming economic recovery,” says publisher Skip Allen.

Mischka will manage sales on the west coast and joins the company after working for many marine and non-marine titles over the last 39 years.

Muir will manage the northeast and begins work with Southern Boating after a career in IT, most recently with Scientific Games.

Fagas is based in South Florida and will look after the magazine’s charter, brokerage, dealer, real estate and luxury goods advertising activity. He has worked in marine advertising since 1988 and worked on titles including Power and Motor Yacht magazine and Boat International.

Southern Boating is the sister title to Marine Business Journal and is in its 38th year of publication.
