French superyacht builder JFA has signed its first semi-custom catamaran project, making its entry onto the semi-custom sailing cat market.

The Long Island 85, a 26m (85ft) Marc Lombard-designed catamaran, will be built in aluminium and composite and is designed for long-distance crossings.

Marc Lombard is also responsible for the cat’s interior design, which features an owner’s cabin with a panoramic view forward of the nacelle and direct access to the trampoline.

The layout also features two guest cabins and two crew cabins as well as large outside areas.

Equipped with a large tender, the Long Island 85 will have a beam of 12m (39ft) and a total sail area of 360m2.

Based in Concarneau, Brittany, JFA specialises in one-off sail and motor builds and refits from 22m-46m (75ft-150ft).
