Dutch superyacht builder Jongert has signed its first order after the restart of the yard under new management a month ago, following the company going into receivership in May.

An overseas contact has placed an order for a new Jongert 24M. The sailing yacht will be completed for delivery in early 2010.

Jongert’s current order book comprises two refits and two yachts yet to be completed. Discussions are also ongoing with a number of potential customers for new projects.

A consortium of businesses consisting of Dutch commercial shipbuilding group VeKa, maritime electrotechnical engineering firm Werkina Werkendam and real estate investor DHVG Schiedam acquired Jongert in June.

Jongert has three 60m (197ft) assembly halls. The yard specialises in building sailing yachts but also offers motoryachts and refits.
