L-3 Communications Holdings Inc has acquired Funa International GmbH, a German supplier of communications systems for superyachts, ferries, and cruise ships. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
L-3 said in a statement that it expects Funa to generate US$60m in sales this year. Funa had previously acquired Advanced New Technologies (ANT), known as a leading superyacht integration specialist. ANT said that it has integrated entertainment and communications systems on 25 of the 100 world’s largest superyachts. Last summer, Funa also acquired Florida-based ShowSys.
New York-based L-3 makes electronic control systems for military and commercial use. It employs 62,000 people around the world.
