Dutch company Azure Naval Architects now has its own team of in-house designers. The new department was established to address the demand of clients who prefer to have technology and design carried out by a single company. Azure is currently working on the design of interiors and exteriors for six motoryachts with lengths varying from 60m to 115m (196ft to 377ft).

Recent superyacht projects with which Azure was involved for technical design included the ISS Design Award winner Sunrays, Vibrant Curiosity and Cakewalk.

“Over the coming years we will increase our focus on designing yacht interiors and exteriors in addition to our current core business of technical designs,” says Hugo van Wieringen, director of Azure. “It is becoming more common for clients to approach us for that type of design, and having our own design department will allow us to fulfil requests in a better and faster way.”

Azure Naval Architects is an independent Dutch design office dedicated to providing design, engineering, construction supervision and support for the new build and refit of luxury motoryachts between 30 and 160 metres.
